Tri-Sate Hope for Violence in Families

"Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." (Psalm 31:24)

Helping You

We are about helping you.

Statistics report that one out of four women will experience some form of domestic violence in their lifetime. Out of a Christian concern for those involved, including victims, survivors, and those who have abusive actions, Tri-State Hope for Violence in Families has been formed. It is our goal to help educate others on how to effectively offer hope, and help, for those experiencing violence and abuse in families.

We would like to challenge churches to do a group book study on Violence in Families: What Every Christian Needs to Know by Reverend Al Miles. Reverend Miles is the head Chaplain for the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii and is nationally known for his work in Domestic Violence. His book includes a chapter on Teen Dating and Relationship Violence: In and Out of the Church.

We are asking local book stores to stock and display books such as Violence in Families: What Every Christian Needs to Know and Ending Teen Dating Violence and Domestic Violence: What Every Pastor Needs to Know by Reverend Al Miles. Also No Place for Abuse by Katherine Kroger-Clark. These books give correct Biblical meaning of scriptures that are often taken out of context, by people who have abusive actions to justify their inappropriate behaviors. It is our prayer that God will use these resources to help bring glory to his kingdom.
